A sharp corner and a sharp eye for the future

CEO Christian Nyborg turn a sharp corner. He is the man at the helm of ACTEC A/S in Randers - Denmark's leading battery company today - which has gone from a trading company to a high-tech comprehensive production and knowledge expert business.

Christian Nyborg celebrates his 50th birthday on 13 May. At the same time, he is approaching 30 years at ACTEC A/S - a successful company, which employs 25 happy employees, and which has managed to develop at such a speed that virtually no competitors in Denmark can do the same.

Christian joined ACTEC A/S in 1992 after 2 years as a sergeant at the Royal Life Guards. At the same time, he began training as a Business Economist at the Business Academy in Randers. Christian started in sales and marketing of batteries to the industrial and public sector. However, he quickly became interested in the entire company, and over the years built up an in-depth knowledge of the company's operations. As a result, in 2009 he took on the position as CEO of ACTEC A/S after his father Kurt Nyborg - the company's founder. Today, the company is run in close collaboration with product manager and Christian’s brother, Morten Nyborg.

Advanced technology, passion and specialist knowledge

Since then, Christian has built on the success, and with a keen eye for the battery technology of the future, he has steered ACTEC towards becoming a high-tech production and knowledge company.

- “Today we still sell batteries, but to a much greater extent total solutions, where we put together battery packs for the customer for very different needs and purposes”, says Christian Nyborg.

The company is filled with advanced test equipment, which means that ACTEC only delivers reliable, efficient and thoroughly tested batteries. The test and analysis work comes especially from a passion of Morten, who has built up expert knowledge within battery technology. Christian takes an enthusiastic part in this passion and manages to inspire the employees so that it also benefits the company.

Small batteries are transformed into huge, especially developed battery packs at the company address in Randers. At the same time, ACTEC acts as an independent consultant on a consulting basis, providing advice on finding the right battery solutions.

Development of the technology of the future

And Christian is optimistic about the future, where ACTEC will take an active role in battery technology.

- “Technology is creating new things every day that require power, such as various forms of surveillance based on the Internet. They often require advanced battery solutions that we are capable of delivering - so far as the only ones in Denmark”, he says.

The birthday is marked in private with the immediate family.
