Battery pack as back-up for door automation

The task of the battery pack is to ensure that the door can be opened after 72 hours without power

After an initial dialogue about the project, ACTEC initiated an analysis phase, where we tested how much power was used in standby operation and during shutdown.

After hours of testing under different loads, we were able to determine how big the batteries needed to be to be able to supply enough power to shut up even after 72 hours.

One of the challenges was the limited space for the batteries and the fact that calculations had to be made on power draws that could be different due to different sizes, different wind pressure or e.g., snow in front of the door. In addition, the new battery pack also had to be connected to the existing battery pack.

The battery pack consists of 4 pcs. reliable and powerful Panasonic lead batteries 12V / 7.2Ah
